Mars Hill Christian School is directed by Jason Yarbrough, who serves as our principal. Though MHCS is new to our community, Pastor Jason is not new to education. After graduating from college in 1989, he taught at Shasta Christian Academy (Redding, CA) from 1989-1995, including serving two years as principal. From 1995-1996, he taught Music & Communications at the college level in Texas. Susan also taught at Shasta Christian Academy from 1990-1995 after attending Simpson University.

After leaving education to be a full-time pastor, Jason returned bi-vocationally to education in 2006, teaching various subjects & leading student chapels at Vacaville Christian High-School.

In the spring of 2009, after the  board of Mars Hill Church voted unanimously to establish a new school, Pastor Jason  & Susan committed to leading MHCS to influence the lives of students & families in the city of Fairfield and beyond.

Susan is also an experienced teacher who assists frequently with chapel, small groups and other school activities.


Kathy Conrad - Science
Dr. Kathy Conrad joined our staff after many successful years of teaching, most recently serving as the Science Department Chair at Vacaville Christian High-School. Kathy also currently teaches at Solano Community College. She oversees our Middle-School & High-School science students, including directing their weekly projects & labs (dissections, etc.) We are blessed to not only to be able to offer our students science labs, but to also have someone of Kathy's caliber on our staff.

Lorraine Craib - Lower Elementary
Mrs. Craib joined our teaching staff as a highly regarded elementary teacher, recommended by several of our own MHCS families. With several years experience at different schools, including Vacaville Christian Elementary School, Lorraine loves children and enjoys helping children become life-long learners. We are very blessed to have her as part of our school staff!

Jennifer Ellison | Upper Elementary

Jenny comes to Mars Hill Christian School with seventeen years of teaching experience.  She has taught 2nd grade through 12th grade.  After graduating and earning her California Teaching Credential from California State University, Chico, Jenny taught 2nd grade for two years in Concord, California.  In 1992 she began her 14 year teaching career at Vacaville Christian Schools.  There she taught 2nd – 5th grades, sixth grade math, 7th grade English, various electives including drama and speech and debate, before moving on to teach 9th grade English for the past seven years. She is motivated by a desire to not only teaching in a truly Christian environment, but to teach in a way that recognizes the glorious uniqueness of each student.

Lindsi Gross | French
Lindsi is a new addition to our staff for the 2010-2011 school year, but she is not a stranger to us. Many of us have had the privilege of teaching with Lindsi previously at Vacaville Christian High-School. She is a wonderful teacher, well-respected by all, and has the distinction of being the first Canadian on our teaching staff!


Andrew Lamb | K-8 Assistant
Andrew comes to us with a 4-year degree from UC Davis and a graduate from The Father's House Internship program. Newly married, Andrew is wonderful with kids and is excited to join our team.

Heather Mundell | 7th-8th Grade
Heather is a wonderfully experienced teacher who joins us from Vacaville Christian High-School where she taught many classes, including middle-school & 12th grade English. FOr the 2010-2011 school year, Heather will be our lead teacher for grades 7 & 8. She is married with children and resides in Vacaville.

Bob Van Allen - Spanish
Bob, who was raised on the mission field, is our highly-qualified Spanish language teacher. Currently a teacher at another Christian school in Sacramento, he communicates with our students via our "Switched-On" system, grading work, helping students with problems, and making sure they receive the guidance they need. It's a privilege to have him on our staff.

Jacob Voyce | 9-12
Jacob joins our staff for the 2010-2011 school as our lead high-school teacher. Skilled in math & sciences, Mr. Voyce is a welcome addition to our qualified staff. Many of us were privileged to teach with Jacob previously and are looking forward to his godly influence among our high-school students.

Connie came to us with over 30 years teaching experience, with over 25 years at Vacaville Christian Elemen
tary School. She is loved by literally hundreds of students - especially her former kindergarteners - and we are blessed to have her on our staff.
